Smith - Mrs. Betty Jeanne Smith, aged 90, of Grand Rapids, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack B. Smith in 1987. Surviving are her children, Dianne (Bob) VanRavenswaay, Jack (Gretchen) Smith, Robert Smith; grandchildren, Wendy (Marc) Mills, Tim (Laurie) VanRavenswaay, Sheri (Herb) Herbruck, Regan (Pete) Nelson, Lauren Nordahl, Travis (Christina) Smith; great grandchildren, Melissa (Kyle) Rich, Stephanie and Thomas Mills, Ryan, Jared and Adam VanRavenswaay, Emily (Tyler) Beute, Cody and Jacob Herbruck, Claire Nordahl, Willem and Charles Nelson; brother in law, Warren Thomas Smith. Betty retired from Upjohn after 20 years of service and resided in the Portage area for over 35 years. Per her wishes cremation has taken place, private family services will take place.
