Betty Martin

Betty Lucille Martin, age 85, of Hudsonville, entered Heaven’s portals on Thursday, November 12, 2020, and was welcomed by her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her parents, George and Ruth Benes. Betty married her high school sweetheart, Marv, in 1955, and was blessed to be a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She upheld her family in prayer daily and was so proud of each one. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Marv Martin; her four sons and their wives, Marvin and Jane Martin, Steve and Lorna Martin, Timothy and Renee Martin, Jonathan and Barbara Martin; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Per her wishes, there will be a private memorial service for her immediate family. The burial will take place at Allendale Township Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Jews for Jesus and Samaritan’s Purse.

Dear Martin family. We got to know and love Dr. Martin and Betty over the years. Grandson Harrison and our son Nick have been close friends since early school days. Betty would brin adorable books and treats for Nick's daughter's. They were both so kind, loving and encouraging to our son Nick and family. I so appreciate their faith that they lived, añd shared . So sorry for your loss. Gwen and I liked Doc and Betty very much. First home movie I ever saw was at their barn house on 60th in Allendale. They invited us over to see Raiders of the Lost Ark. Doc got a call to pronounce someone dead who had hit a horse with his car. Doc asked me if I wanted to ride along. He stopped the movie and we left to take care of the emergency. Gwen and I were privileged to know these great people. Betty is now face to face with Jesus her Savior and for this we are happy.
