Betty Mae Gravelyn

Betty Mae Gravelyn, age 94, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully and was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 19, 2021, and now joins her husband Donald who preceded her in 2020. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gordon Gravelyn, and her brother, Robert Van Hammen. Betty was a loving mom and grandma who treasured her family. She loved to be with friends and family, and was blessed with the gift of conversation. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Don and Patty Gravelyn, Shirley and David Vanden Bosch; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Daniel Gravelyn, Josh and Ella Gravelyn (Karter, Maddie), Jacob Vanden Bosch, Amber Vanden Bosch; many loving extended family members. According to Betty’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services held at the funeral home.

I will truly miss you. I cherish all of the memories that we have together, and all of the support growing up and also as an adult. Especially when I was going through my cancer treatments and surgery. You and Dad were always there to help us with anything we needed. I am truly blessed to have you as my Mom.

A lifetime of memories when we were together as your son and many more as we kept in close touch on the phone when far away. I will always miss you, love you and admire you because you had such a full life. I just realized the adventurism in myself comes from you and I will always be grateful for you Mom.

Love you Grandma. My childhood is full of memories with you and grandpa and the whole family either at the lake or everyone coming to the UP to see us and going out to eat, it was always fun and I am glad to have grown up with Grandparents like you. Love you
