Betty Joan (nee Mihalak) Larsen, passed into arms of her loving Savior on Friday, May 19, 2017. Betty was 90 years young. She was a Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Betty lived a full life as an author, world traveler, activist for the unborn and a sanctified marriage. She enjoyed playing a competitive Rummy card game, reading, writing and day trips to Frankenmuth and a Myrtle Beach ocean breeze. She loved speaking fluent Czechoslovakian with family, learning about world history and watching classic black and white films. She had a strong and resilient faith life, and she loved her family above all else. God blessed Betty with the perfect set of arms for her great grandchildren to snuggle into. To know her was to love her and be loved by her gracious spirit. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Richard Larsen J.D.; her son, Eric (Maria) Larsen; and her sister, Margaret. She is survived by her loving daughter, Janis (Ken) Wasco D. Min, grandson, Michael Larsen; granddaughters, Shannon (Jonathan) Stolter, Lauren (Ryan) Dobbs; and was sweet “GG” to great grandchildren, Crosby Stolter, Finley Stolter, and Raegan Dobbs; sister, Helen Mihalek; and a niece, Diana Hannah. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11:30 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (corner of Avery and Scott) 6651 Scott St., Allendale. Interment Guardian Angel Cemetery in Rochester MI. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 10-11:30 am at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Emmanuel Hospice or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

1. Dear Larson family, please except my deepest condolences for the loss of your dear loved one Betty . May Jehovah, the God of all comfort, (2Corintians 1:3,4) comfort you in your time of need. His word assures us at Isaiah 33:24 that one day there will be no more sickness and at Isaiah 25:8 and Revelation 21:4, that one day death will be no more. At John 5:28,29, Jesus himself said that there will be a resurrection of those loss in death. And Psalms 37:29 guarantees that they will live again on a cleansed earth.
