Family owned and operated for over 85 years.
Betty Haan, aged 91, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 21, 2022. Betty was born October 1, 1931, to Ben and Maggie TerMeer, the seventh of eight children.
As a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Betty was fully devoted to her family. She found immense joy in planning Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings, attending family birthday parties, and watching sporting events. If there was an event involving her family, Betty always showed up. Her family members enjoyed receiving her hand-knitted blankets and original baked goods, playing card games, and laughing along with her keen sense of humor. Through everything, Betty’s primary aim was that each of her family members come to know Jesus.
Betty was a deeply committed, long-standing member of Lee Street Christian Reformed Church, where she and her husband tirelessly served through a variety of outreach ministries.
Betty spent many years also serving at the Christian Reformed Conference Grounds in the kitchen baking pies. She loved working with people and sharing life with them.
An avid sports fan, Betty could often be found watching a match involving the Michigan State Spartans or Detroit Tigers.
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Russ Haan; and granddaughter, Leah Koldenhoven. She is lovingly survived and remembered by her children, Barb and Vern Groenendyk, Ron and Debra Haan, Roger and Judy Haan, Bruce and Kim Haan; grandchildren, Marla and Brad DeKock, Mark and Jessica Groenendyk, Marilee and Jeremy Marsman, Mindi Groenendyk, Phillip and Betsie Haan, Craig and Erin Haan, Matthew and Teray Haan, Mark Koldenhoven, Sarah and Kevin Chase, Angela and Dan Vander Molen, Ben Haan, David and Ashley Haan; 32 great-grandchildren; sister, Marge and Bob Smith; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Aloha Meyers, Nels and Kay Rotman, Jan and Fred Billin, Cheryl and Donley De Groot, Marcia and Fred Hulst, Warren and Virginia Haan, Carol Haan; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
