Betty Ann Zalaoras

Betty Ann Zalaoras, age 98, of Kentwood, passed peacefully in her home on June 18, 2025. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Zalaoras and daughter, Kathy Van't Hof. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Cynthia Gurd, Debra Easley; son-in-law, Christian Van't Hof III (Rena); grandchildren, Brad and Jennifer Dykens, Shane Gurd, Ryan and Brooke Gurd, Jayson Gurd, Emilee Van’t Hof  (Chad), Justin and Annie Smith, Christian and Sarah Van't Hof IV, Adam and Ashlan Smith, and Alexandra and Matt Newman, Matt Bowen; 26 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandma, aunt and very loyal friend. Nothing meant more to her than her family, including many not blood related. Her love and support for each of us was boundless. Betty was an incredible seamstress, and her amazing crochet skills were seen in every afghan she made for over 80 family members and friends. She was also known as the “Hot Fudge Lady” as she made delicious hot fudge sauce and shared it with many. Her kind heart and generous soul was known to everyone who knew her. We already miss her. Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, June 23, 2025  at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Justin Smith officiating.  Entombment will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home and on Monday from 10-11 am at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Down’s Syndrome Association of West Michigan.
