Bert John Stolk, age 92, went to be in the arms of the Ultimate Carpenter on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.  Bert was preceded in death by his first wife, Marian (Spoelstra); and second wife, Harriet Guikema; stepsons, Henry, Louis, and Jim Guikema. Bert is lovingly remembered by his children, Barbara and Donald Wohlgemuth, Jane and Michael Ritsema; grandchildren, Jeff and Monica, Kyle, Brett and Rachel Wohlgemuth, Aaron and Callie, Marcus and Jenna, Jordan and Jodi Ritsema, Rachel and Brian Dokter; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Mur and Gord Brumels, Louise Straayer, and Peg Stolk; step-children, Judy and Jim VanderMay, Connie Rietberg, Sue Brown; many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.  The family is grateful for the wonderful care from Rose Garden, Emmanuel Hospice, and Faith Community Church. A private family graveside service is planned.  Burial Rest Lawn Memorial Park.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Rose Garden, 3391 Prairie St. SW, Grandville, MI 49418.

My deepest sympathy to Bert's family. As a co-worker at FMG, Bert was always available and intentional in giving of himself with a heart of service and exceptional integrity. He was great listener and a man of quiet action.... a very special person.

Jane, Barb and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege and pleasure of knowing Bert when I would stay with Sheryl in Florida. He was, to me, one of the nicest men I have ever known. I loved his quiet humor as well! I treasure the candle holder he made and gave to me. What workmanship!!

I am very deeply sorry for your loss. Your dad was a wonderful man and I am so glad I had the privilege to know him. He was a big blessing in my life and brought me so much joy and encouragement everyday I worked at Rose Garden. I will always remember the fun memories we had together and the heart that he had for loving others and his Lord. Praying for your whole family during this time. With love,
