Bernice Louise Velzen

To:   Grand Rapids Press   Bernice Louise Velzen, age 91, of Grandville, went to be with her Lord and Savior, peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Sr.; children, Henry Velzen, Linda Roer, Valerie Hodges; and infant children, Robert Lee Velzen and Sandra Lynn Velzen. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Gerry Jr. and Freda Velzen, David and Michelle Velzen; daughter-in-law, Karen Velzen; son-in-law, Terry Roer; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; sister, Priscilla and Will Huizing; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jane Velzen, Lillian Grissen, Frank Velzen. A memorial service will be held on Friday 2:30 PM at Hillcrest Christian Reformed Church, 3617 Hillcrest Rd., Hudsonville with Rev. Brian Bosscher officiating. Interment Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 1:00-2:15 PM at the church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Pine Rest Christian Services or Hillcrest Christian Reformed Church.
