Bernice Hulst

Bernice “Bernie” Hulst, age 95, of Newaygo, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Starr; second husband, Herman Hulst; as well as her two brothers. She will be lovingly remembered by her stepchildren, grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and faithful friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Monday from 10-11 am at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wild Child Circle (Venmo: @wildchildmi), a nature-based homeschool program in Newaygo that brought Bernie joy as she supported her grandsons’ learning and adventures by the lake and in the forest.
