Beatrice Ellen Nitzel, aged 87 of Wyoming, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Vernon “Bud”; and brother, Robert Mol.  She will be dearly missed by her children: Liz (Calvin Stroud) Treece, Mark (Barb) Nitzel, Mike Nitzel; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; brother, Martin (Germaine) Mol; sisters-in-law, Ruth (Robert) Feighner, Edna Mol; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bea was a very active, loving, caring mother and grandmother. She spent 30 years working at the GM Trim Plant and continued to volunteer after she retired. Bea could be found knitting and crocheting baby blankets, veteran’s hats, and other items that she would donate. She loved her grandchildren and every spouse became one of the family with equal status in her eyes. In the words of her family, “it was all about the grandkids.” She thoroughly enjoyed fellowship and conversations with others. She graduated from GVSU with a degree in Journalism. She collected personal items for the Vets Home and held Easter egg hunts for the grandkids. Bea loved to feed the birds and animals and watch them through her back window. A funeral service for Beatrice will be held on Friday, April 12 at 10:30 am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Inurnment at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 - 7 pm and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
