Barbara Yost

Barbara Yost, age 95, of Grand Rapids, ran into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ, on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Barbara was a kind and compassionate woman who loved to give her time to others. She loved to go shopping, and it was clear to anyone who knew her that food was her love language. Whenever someone came to visit, they would never leave hungry if she could help it. She was very independent and even in her later years she kept sharp by completing sudoku puzzles. Above all Barbara was devoted to her family and to her Lord and Savior. It was important to her that her love of God was passed on to her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, John Jr.; grandson, Adam; brothers, John Proctor, Ted Proctor; and son-in-law, David Jennings. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Mark Yost, Judy Jennings, Amy Yost; grandchildren, John (Sarah) Yost III, Joseph (Breana) Parisi, Jaclyn (Steven) Short, Matthew Yost, Sean (Kayla) Yost; great-grandchildren, Kalyn, Anthony, Kaylee, Kyle, Eden, Madlyn, Yeager, Saylem, Meadow; great-great-grandchildren, Sage, Lincoln; daughter-in-law, Lori Yost; sister, Marie Anes; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Phil Cox officiating. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Friday from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
