Barbara Peterson

PETERSON - Barbara A. Peterson aged 87 passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Alamdea Daniels. Surviving are her daughter, Shareen (Marvin) Van Ek; grandchildren, Kory (Richele), Kelsey, Joshua and Lillyana Van Ek; great grandchildren, Mason and Eli. Barbara graduated from Creston High School and went on to work for C & O Railroad in their dining car from 1945 to 1965 traveling to Panama and Washington, DC. Barbara later moved from Grand Rapids to LA and Las Vegas then back to her hometown of Grand Rapids, where she raised her daughter. She was a loving and devoted Mother and Grandmother, and loved her son-in-law as her own. She will be dearly missed. A memorial gathering will take place on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel - Belmont, 1601 Post Dr. NE.
