Barbara Lou VanderVeen

Barbara VanderVeen, age 86, of Jenison, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Monday, December 16, 2024. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved traveling around the world, having a glass of wine, playing a round of golf, and always having a puzzle to work on. She was preceded in death by parents, John and Jeanne Bytwerk; and brother, Ron Bytwerk. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 67 years, Henry; children, Brenda and Jeff Montoy, Tamara and Ron Seabolt, Eric and Kimberly VanderVeen; grandchildren, Ashley and Alex VandeBunte, Kelsey DeBoer, Trevor and Halee DeBoer, Hunter VanderVeen, Jordan VanderVeen; great-grandchildren, Mekai, Ezra, and Beckham; brother, Jack and Bunny Bytwerk; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 20, at Ridgewood Christian Reformed Church, 1571 Baldwin St., Jenison, with Pastor Michael Ten Haken and Pastor Doug Bytwerk officiating. Burial Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit the family on Thursday, December 19, from 4-7 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.
