Barbara Lee Helmholdt

Barbara Lee Helmholdt, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. God blessed her with 94 years of a full and happy life. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Don (Gwen), Lin (Mike), Pat (Nancy), Shirley (David), and Gary (Val); 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ted. Known for her happiness and commitment to family and friends, she will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Barb’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing. A celebration of Barb’s life will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Jason Helmholdt officiating. Burial will be held at Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Sunday from 2-3 pm at the funeral home prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to make memorial contributions to please consider supporting Barb’s granddaughter and grandson, both of whom do missionary work in other countries.
