Barbara J. Isler

ISLER – Barbara Isler, aged 93 went to be with her Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, George and son, Burt. She is survived by her sons, Jerry (Linda) Isler, John (Patty) Isler, Jim (Nancy) Isler; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Peek. Barbara was the last surviving charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church. Funeral services for Barbara will held Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo Ave.SE with Pastor Mike Wernick officiating. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Members of the family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 am until the time of the service. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to charity of one’s choice.

We were neighbors of the Islers for more than twenty years.Our children grew up with Burt,Jerry,John, and Jimmy.We attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church with the family and became charter members at Ascension Lutheran Church with them.Barb and Ginne were very close and talked on the phone often right up to the end. I am sure Barb will be missed very much by her fammily but she will also be missed very much by us. Our prayers to the family. Shepards

It was my privilege to bring the Eucharist to your mom as a fellow church member. in past months. She was always glad to see me, and to express what the sacrament meant to her. I admired her dignity, her sincerity, and I will miss her.

Jerry, John, & Jim & entire Isler family~ Your Mom was the best neighbor 'mom' a kid could ask for. Her door was always open to me. I can easily hear her yell, "Well, Come on in"! Grateful for the times together, all of us. Grateful for the wonderful memories I have. Betting her Homecoming was as big as her heart!
