Barbara Jean (Carrico) Flynn, age 67, of Hudsonville, was released from this world into a better place on Sunday, June 16, 2019. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family. She was blessed with the gift of hospitality, and always put others before herself. Whether having people over, providing a delicious meal, or just being a listening ear, her selfless personality was evident to all who knew her. Over the past 25 years, Barbara cared for many children in her home, establishing many lifelong relationships. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Betty Carrico; her step-father, Russell Meis; and her sister-in-law, Judi Carrico. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 46 years, Jim Flynn; her children, Tracy and Todd Warner, Jennifer and Ben Weers, Randy and Michelle Flynn; 13 grandchildren; her siblings, Leon and Carolyn Carrico, Roger Carrico, Tammy Meis, Wendy Salois, Mike and Sherry Meis; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and a few of her lifelong friends who have always been there for her. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019, at 2 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Legacies Assisted Living in Caledonia.
