Aurora (Lola, Lollie) R. Hernandez age 88, of Kentwood left this world to rest in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.  She was preceded in death by her father, Juan R. Hernandez and mother Anita Hernandez; her brothers, Raymudo and Jose Hernandez; sister-in-law, Juanita Baltierrez; sister, Julia (Dale) Taylor, Elida (Martin) Diaz; brother-in-law, Cresencio Valdez;  two nieces, Gloria (Valdez) McKinley and Christine (Valdez) Harrington; two nephews, Roy Diaz and Donald Mark Hernandez. She is survived by one sister, Rosa Valdez; many nieces, nephews, and close friends she called family.  She retired after many years as a millwright from General Motors. She loved traveling to Texas and would spend Good Friday in Chicago eating and shopping. Her later days she could be found riding her 3 wheel bike to get cigarettes, pop and conches.  She lived a good life!! She will be missed by many. A funeral service will be held 11 am Friday, September 6, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Pastor Chase R. Stancle, officiating. Burial will be held at Chapel Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, September 6, from 10-11am, at  Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the National Heart Association.
