Audrey Marie VanPelt

Audrey Marie Bolt (Sepanik) VanPelt is now in the arms of her Good Lord, having passed from this world on February 21, 2024. She is survived by her husband, Frank VanPelt; her children, Marie Ambs (Keith), Cathy Barnard, James Sepanik (Barb) and Nanette Gritter (Brian); her grandchildren, Kelly Jorgensen (Justin), Christopher Barnard (Courtney), Cassandra Goettleicher (Jacob), Timothy Sepanik (Kim), Kaitlyn Sepanik, Daniel Sepanik and Michael Sepanik; and five great grandchildren. Audrey and her husband Mack Sepanik, who passed in 1993, moved to Dean Lake Avenue in 1960 where they lived with their growing family. They maintained a tree and shrub nursery, originally started by her father, Arthur Bolt. The business and family kept her busy. Family gatherings for holidays and other celebrations most often were held at their home and those times hold fond memories for her family and friends. Sewing, knitting, gardening and painting were among her hobbies. Always generous, she knitted many caps and scarves that were sent to charities and given to friends. Her hands were seldom idle. Audrey loved animals and could never turn away a stray that appeared at her door. Her home was always full of kids, dogs, cats, birds, and other assorted creatures. A lively combination. When she met someone new, she would get them to talk about themselves. She liked to gather their stories and share her own. Her life was full, but not without hardships. Her faith guided her through it all. Audrey’s bible is well worn and holds many family mementos. She read and studied it daily. Her spirit now resides in Heaven where she has been welcomed by those who have passed before. We will miss her always. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Sunday, February 25, from 6-8 p.m. at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel (Belmont) 1601 Post Drive NE and from 11-noon before the Celebration of Life service at New Community Church, 2340 Dean Lake Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI, on Monday, February 26. The Celebration of Life service will be held at noon with Rev. Lew VanderMeer officiating. Burial will be held at Rosedale Memorial Park. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Michele’s Rescue.
