Arthur “Harry” Shade

Arthur “Harry” Shade, age 72, of Hudsonville, ran into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, September 7, 2016. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian Shade; grandson, Seth Michael Bajema; mother, Avis; father, Arthur; siblings, Priscilla Brenner and Dave Shade; sister-in-law, Rhonda Pike; beloved dog, Gabby. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Sheryl; children, Danielle and Cory McClellan, Emily and Chris Bajema, Megan Dozer; daughter-in-law, Jolene Shade; grandchildren, Emelyn Hoogerhyde, Kaylin Shade, Nicole McClellan, Hannah McClellan, Isaac Bajema, Eli Bajema, Naomi Bajema; sister, Jerilou and Dean Werner; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gloria (Shade) and Russ Van Laan, Deb and Jack Folkema, Ross Pike, Ted and Brenda Horton; many nieces and nephews; and the other half of the Odd Couple, Mike LaFontsee.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1481 Baldwin Street, Jenison, with Rev. Dr. Scott Sommerfeld and Rev. Adam Peck officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 5-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, as well as Tuesday from 10-11 am at the church prior to the service.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to American Lung Association or American Cancer Society.
