LAMOREAUX - Mrs. Ardis Lamoreaux, aged 92, passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents, Walter and Edith Nielsen; step-mother, Dora Nielsen; twin sister, Arlene & Clare Kilts; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice & Mort Cook, Joyce Matthews; brother, Phillip Nielsen; son-in-law, Donn Perkins; granddaughter, Toni Perkins. Surviving are her children, Carolyn (Lou) Sabin, Donald (Mary Jo) Lamoreaux, Donna (Lynn) Klungle, Pamela Perkins, Alice (Tom) Matthews; grandchildren, Lou Jr., Brian (Kelli) and Michael Sabin, Brian Lamoreaux, Kelly Lamoreaux, Colleen (Brent) Tate, Bridget Lamoreaux, Julie (Dana) Kleinjans, Cynthia (Terry) Thenikl, Dawn (Neal) Kooiman, Marcus Perkins, Amanda Matthews; great grandchildren, Samantha, Lou III Sabin, Ryan, Zachery and Lucas Sabin, Bryce Lamoreaux, Blake, Austin and Olivia Lamoreaux, Kelsey, Mckenna and Kennedy Lamoreaux, Trenton and Katie Tate, Cody and Lindsay Kleinjans, Tyler and Joseph Thenikl, Mitchell, Katelin and Holly Kooiman, Paige Fansler, Chelsea Alley, Chase Perkins; sister-in-law, Dorothy Nielsen; sisters-in-law, Esther and Ann Lamoreaux; brother-in-law, Marvin Matthews; many, many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; many treasured friends. Ardis was not only a devoted mother and grandmother, but opened her heart and home to any and all in need. Her mother died at a young age and Ardis assumed that role for her sisters and brother and their spouses. You were never a stranger to her and she always made sure no one left hungry. She was also known for her cooking and supplied meals to family and friends in time of need. She was a pillar of strength and the matriarch of her extended family. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 12, 2011 at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE. Her family will greet relatives and friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM and one hour prior to the service. Interment Greenwood Cemetery in Sparta.
