Antonio Mangione

MANGIONE- Antonio (Tony) Mangione of Grand Rapids, Michigan born on December 26, 1931 passed peacefully from this earth and into the loving arms of his heavenly father on December 18, 2016 at 8:47 PM at the Porter Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center after suffering from a massive stroke which he battled for four years. He is now rejoicing in heaven with his parents Domenico and Carmela Mangione; his two brothers, Giovannni and Domenico; and three sisters, Concetta, Lucia, and Caterina. Tony is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joan (Puccio) Mangione; his daughter, Deborah (Brad) Cassingham; his son, Gregory (Susan) Mangione; and his eleven grandchildren, Gregory (Vicka) Mangione, Vanessa (Christopher) Ridley, Melissa (Jonathan) Bechtle, Christopher (Heidi) Mangione, Nathaniel Mangione, Joanna Mangione, Daniel (Brandi) Mangione, Anthony (Marissa) Mangione, Lalia Mangione, Travis Mangione, and Isaac Mangione; and 14 great grandchildren. Tony was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, where he met his wife Joan and then joined the United States Marine Corps for 4 years before settling down and raising his family in Southern California. Before retirement, he was most recently employed as the General Manager at the Wyoming Self Storage in Wyoming, Michigan. Tony was a man of faith, hardworking, loyal, and a very loving brother, friend, husband, father, and grandfather. Tony has left a legacy of love and faithfulness. His passing is deeply mourned by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Calvary Church - Chapel, 707 E. Beltline Ave. NE. His family will greet relatives and friends Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel - Belmont, 1601 Post Dr. NE, Belmont and one hour prior to the service at church on Thursday.
