Annette LaFontsee

LaFontsee – Annette “Annie” LaFontsee, age 81, peacefully left her earthly home for her heavenly home on Friday, December 18, 2020 after a long well fought battle with Alzheimers. Annie was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel “Jo” Curtis; stepfather, Gaylord Curtis; father, Llwyn LaFontsee; brother, LaWayne LaFontsee. Annie is survived by her best friend of 39 years, Kathy Katt; extended family, Claude, Esta, Terry, Linda, Randy and Karen Katt; nieces, nephews, and so many treasured friends.

Annie was a social worker. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Northern Michigan University and her master’s degree at Western Michigan.

Annie was an awesome artist, Secular Franciscan, rosary maker, golfer, and loved to fish. Annie loved animals and especially enjoyed visiting Oswald Bear Ranch in the UP and feeding the baby bears. Annie’s faith and Native American heritage were extremely important to her.

A very special thank you go to her team at Emmanuel Hospice, Audry, Becky, Nichole, and Sue for the excellent care they gave Annie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Hospice, 401 Hall Street SW #263, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, Kent County Animal Shelter, or the Humane Society. A celebration of Annie’s life will be held 11:00 AM Friday June 4, 2021 at Bella Vista Church, 5100 Belding Road NE, Rockford, MI.
