Remembering Anne Brouwer
Anne Marie Brouwer went to be with her Lord on August 29, 2026, after a long battle with cancer. Anne was born on September 6, 1939, to Sam and Ella Walma in Byron Center, Michigan. Anne married Harold Brouwer Jr. on January 17th, 1963, and shared 63 years with him. She joins her deceased brothers, Sam (Carol) Walma, and John Walma, and sisters, Alice (Henry) Kerkstra, and Mary (Calvin) Pickering. Anne is survived by her husband, Harold Brouwer, Jr.; daughters, Linda (Wayne) Eisen, and Cindy Brouwer; sons, Douglas (Deanna) Brouwer, Dennis (Melinda) Brouwer; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Grace Walma, and Kathy (Don) Harn; and sister-in-law, Barb Walma. Anne worked as a seamstress and enjoyed sewing and knitting, gardening, and caring for the family farm animals. Although her education stopped after high school, Anne generously supported the college education of her children and grandchildren. She was a long-time devoted member of Jamestown Reformed Church where she taught preschool age Sunday School for 31 years and later enjoyed the sewing sisters’ group that made clothes for missions. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Jamestown Reformed Church, 2554 Riley St., 49427 with Pastor Scott Beglin officiating. Burial will take place at Floral View Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Wednesday, September 2 from 5-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Jamestown) 2371 Riley St. Hudsonville and on Thursday from 10-11 am at church prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice.
