Anne (Amante) Calvaruso

August 9, 1920 ~
April 25, 2021

After achieving the amazing age of 100 on August 9, 2020, Anne peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on April 25, 2021, surrounded by family. She was preceded in death in 1997 by Frank, her loving husband of 57 years and in February 2021 by her son Michael. Also preceding were her parents Giuseppe and Concetta (Marsiglia) Amante and many other members of the Amante and Calvaruso families. Her precious smile and sweet personality will be deeply missed by her children: Mary (Dave) Weaver, Joanne Scott, Carol (Tony Selvaggio) Bourgeois, Francine VanderMolen, Steve (Lorinda) Calvaruso: as well as 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. For her, first and foremost were her faith and family. She and Frank took a memorable pilgrimage to the Holy Land and Italy. They enjoyed many vacations around America, while also spending their retirement Winters in Florida. Anne will also be fondly remembered for her expertise at relating many multi-generational stories. We thank God for the blessing of her compassionate Caregiver Team who, along with her Faith Hospice nurse, Paul Harris, lovingly attended her through the last four years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St John Vianney Parish, 4101 Clyde Park, S W, Wyoming, MI. with Rev. John Vallier presiding on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM, with one hour visitation at the church prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, EWTN Catholic TV Channel, or Faith Hospice Care.

I have many childhood good memories visiting with the family of Aunt Anne. She is now at peace with The Lord and will be remembered fondly. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
