A mother's love stays in your heart forever. I am so sorry that I didn't know about the memorial service in time to attend. I have so many great memories of her growing up. I think of our moms' friendship as a wonderful gift to each other. Sending my love to you all.

When I think of your mom, my great aunt, Jeannie, I can't help but smile... I think of my days living with her when I was in college- eating strawberry shortcake and pizza rolls... she had quite the sense of humor... she was witty and sarcastic but had a heart of gold. She was so generous with her sewing abilities; I have many items in my house right now that she made for me...She was good to my grandma- faithfully visiting her each week when she was in the assisted living home. Her heart was full of love for her grandchildren... that's for sure... It won't be the same without her. -Susan (Weidenaar) O'Connor

Jeannie was always there for us. We'll remember the good times- go-carting and throwing chickens in our basement, and eating steak when we could not afford to buy it. We are grateful for the hospitality she showed to our kids and the sewing tasks she completed so many times. Jeannie was always fun, always willing to socialize. We will always remember her. -Bernie and Janice Weidenaar

We have wonderful, funny memories of your mom. Many of them go far back to our Silver Lake days. She brought laughter wherever she went. She was so faithful to visit my mom and dad at Providence care center. She will truly be missed. Wes and Denise Vander Lugt

I have so many wonderful memories of your mom, my great aunt Jeannie! My childhood Christmas vacations never felt complete until I spent some time on the farm with your family. I always felt welcomed and loved. Later on when I was in college Jeannie again welcomed me into her home when I needed a place to live. We shared many laughs, and she was someone I knew I could always count on. She was so helpful. I remember as I was walking out the door one day to class she saw a big rip in my coat...She had me take it off and in less than 5 minutes she had fixed it! I can still see her standing on her porch laughing at me when I decided to take one of the horses out for a walk and I couldn't get the horse to go back into the pasture. I remember the many nights that Kelsey stayed over as an infant after Jayne had the triplets...Jeannie loved her children and grandchildren so much! I will miss her wonderful spunky presence! Jeannie was a blessing in my life...I am thinking of you and your family with love as you cope during this time of loss...Lynda Key

We send our deepest sympathy to your family. We remember fondly your mother and father as your father worked for John for many years. We remember your mom as a great supporter and somewhat of a rascal. Especially the time she sent all the guys a meal on April Fool's Day with a few added ingredients that really weren't too tasty. Our prayers are with all of you as we know how hard it is to lose a family member.

I recognized that helpful smile right away as I was reading the newspaper today. Your mom was the first person to welcome me to Allendale Public Schools as a new teacher 27 years ago. I had just graduated from Hope and was barely older than my students. I will always be grateful for your mother's calm and helpful presence as I began my career. My condolences.
