Ann Hammond, age 49, of Freeport, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 13, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, M. Scott Hammond; daughter, Laci Kae Washburn. She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Chelsea Leigh and Diego Lozano Maguel; 2 grandchildren; parents, William and Mary Callan; brother, John and Georgia Callan; niece and nephew: Molly and Mathew. She worked as a hotel manager at the Grand Rapids Hilton for many years. A mass for the deceased will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9669 Kraft SE, Caledonia, with Rev. Mark Bauer, celebrant. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

I will have to say goodbye to my mom Anne B. Hammond from Mexico I love you mom I no I'm a spoiled brat but I'm this was cause you raised me to be a strong woman who speaks her mind no matter what I will love you forever and your grand children to I can't wait til Quetzalli gets older to look at your pics and be proud to say that's my grandma and Christopher can be proud to tell everyone you were there when he was born. Anne, I think I am still in shock. I can't believe your gone. I tried everything for days to get Chelsea here, but I'm sorry I failed, it breaks my heart that she wont be here to tell you good bye. but I know that now you can be with Chelsea, and the Grand Babies,watch over her Anne Chelsea needs you. I bet it was one happy reunion when you got to Heaven and Laci and Scott. where wait for you. Well Anne now you know the truth.. I wish you would have told me all that was going on with you.. we where so close, and we had are low time for a few years. but I would have been there for you. Good Bye my friend. till we meet again. Anne was one of the most wonderful loving people I have ever met, I am proud to say she was my friend, I am still in shock and my heat is breaking but I know you are with Laci n Scott now and how much you have been missing them. Anne, you were loved and will be missed by so many!!! We did try to get Chelsea here before your service because we believe you would have wanted that and that's where she should have been, but it did not work out. We are sorry for that. I have re-introduced myself to your parents and took them a meal and gave them hugs. I did make it to your service and then I left you a rose at your gravesite. What a beautiful place, with Scott and Laci. I am happy and proud to say she was my friend! May you rest in peace sweet Anne. Lori Russell
