Anita Dolce

Anita M. Dolce (Licari), age 97, of Hudsonville was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Her husband of 46 years, Henry passed away on March 6, 1992 and her son, Tom, passed away in June of 2015. She was also predeceased by sister and brother-in-law Marion and John Steiffer, brother and sister-in-law Sebastian and Ruth Licari, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marie and Casey Birr. She will be dearly missed by her children; Mike and Sharon Dolce, John and Elizabeth Dolce and daughter-in-law Janise Dolce; grandchildren, Mike and Jacqui Dolce, Marcus and Monica Dolce, Thomas and Megan Dolce, Anthony and Robin Dolce, Russell Holton, Kyle Dolce and Alexandra Dolce; 10 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Anita was a survivor of being orphaned at age five as well as the Great Depression. She was a protector of the other children in the orphanage gathering them close to her during thunderstorms. Anita was unselfish, compassionate, gentle, loving and caring. She loved her family unconditionally. She was a very classy, wonderful person who was known as “The Songbird of South High School.” Anita loved her Spartan Basketball and Detroit Tigers. She was a faithful and long-time member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. More than anything she enjoyed people; loving them and caring for them with a joyful, generous spirit. Anita’s family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care she received from Spectrum Health Hospice and Sheldon Meadows Assisted Living Center. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Spectrum Health Hospice.
