Remembering Angeline Scharphorn

Angeline Scharphorn, age 99, of Allendale went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; son-in-law, Ken Hintz; two brothers, Benjamin and Henry. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sandra and Ken Ponstein, Doug and Mary Scharphorn, Noreen Hintz, Regina and Bryan Wolbrink; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brother, Frank and Gert Meerman; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Eastmanville United Reformed Church, 6845 Leonard Rd., Coopersville, 49404, with Pastor Jeph Nobel officiating. Interment Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 4 to 7 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale) 6651 Scott St., 49401. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Eastmanville United Reformed Church.

We are so sorry to hear about the Home Going of Ange. I have a lot of fond memories of your mother, grand mother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. I have many memories of the times they came to the campsites we were at. Our prayers are with y'all in this time of loss but we have the assurance that she is in the arms of our sweet Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Love you guys.

My prayers and sympathies to the family of Ange. She was an amazing lady and I’m glad I got to be a small part of her life. I remember fondly the memories of being stuck up in her tree in the front of their house. Lots of great memories. The Ponsteins became my 2nd family growing up so I gained another grandmother! My heart breaks for you all that you have to go on this hard journey. She’s with our Lord now and even though we miss her being down here, she’s living it up in Heaven drinking all the Mountain Dew and eating pizza she wants! Much love and prayers sent to you all from Virginia.
