Angela Vallone

Angela Vallone, age 93, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2024, surrounded by her family. Angela was born in Alcamo, Sicily and her husband, Vito, came from America to marry her and bring her to their new home in Grand Rapids. They began their business ventures together, side by side in various restaurants, starting Villa Pizza and Grand Rapids Cheese Co. They worked together for many years and loved raising their family. She loved to cook, travel to her hometown Alcamo in Italy, casinos, shopping, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was especially thankful for her caregivers, daughter and son-in-law, Paola and Chip, and granddaughters, Gina (Jacob) and Angela, for their loving care. She also loved her many friends and family in Italy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vito; son-in-law, Frank Albanese, siblings: Pietro, Norina, Gida, and Giovanna; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law: Giuseppe, Gina, and Anna.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Gaetano (LeeAnn) Vallone, Maria Albanese, Lena (Govanni Polizzi) Vallone, Paola (Chip) Vallone-Bigelow; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; brother-in-law; Nino (Nineta) Vallone; many nieces and nephews in Italy and very close friends; canine companion, Minnie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2024, at St. Pius X Church, 3937 Wilson, Grandville, with Rev. Stephen Durkee presiding. Relatives and friends may visit the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., rosary at 7:30 pm, on Thursday at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division, Wyoming. Visitation will also be held at the church 10:00-11:00 prior to the service. Entombment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
