SWIETER - SFC Andrew P. Swieter US Army Retired aged 70 of Sparta, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; daughter Virginia "Jenny"; brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Mary Swieter. Surviving are his children, Debra (Rick) Peterman, Julie (Kevin) Barnes, Andrew Swieter; eleven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Geraldine (Andrew) Joosse; several nieces and nephews. Andy proudly served his country in the US Army, retiring after 20 years of service. Following his Military Career Andy worked for many years at Steelcase, owned and operated the Amateur Bowling Tour, and eventually retiring from DTE Energy. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Thursday, April 12, 2012 at the Ronan-Vanderpool-Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave., with Chaplain David Kennedy officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM and one hour prior to the service. Interment Rest Lawn Memorial Park.
