Amy Hoekstra

Amy Hoekstra, beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend, age 35, went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon, June 6, 2026. Amy had a simple faith; she knew that God was her father and that Jesus died for her so she could spend eternity with Him in heaven. Amy loved to volunteer at the Ditto store for many years and was a regular participant at Compassionate Heart Ministries. We are so blessed to live in the Holland / Zeeland area where the kindheartedness and generosity of the community is abundantly evident by the wonderful ministries for those with special needs. Amy could experience the hands and feet of Jesus through so many people. Much of her time volunteering was spent with her good friend and caregiver, Emily. Amy enjoyed going to worship services at Benjamin's Hope and Ventura Baptist Church. Every summer Amy would count down the days until she could go to the special needs camping week at the Christian Reformed Conference Grounds as well as an annual family vacation at Gull Lake Ministries. Amy loved watching movies on the couch next to her dog, Tucker. Amy also loved to help care for her young nephews and her niece. Amy will be lovingly remembered by her parents, Allan and Stephanie; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Abbie  and Aaron Meckes, Sarah, Ellie and Riley Carlon; her nephews, Harrison, Fletcher, Franklin, Teddy; and her niece, Charlotte. She will also be lovingly remembered by her Beppe, Janet Hoekstra; uncles and aunts, Mona and Frank Vanderwoude, Lisa and Jeff Vander Kloet, Lou and Albie Praamsma, and Dave and Joanie Praamsma; as well as many cousins. We are thankful for the wonderful care provided by Faith Hospice who allowed us to care for Amy in our home. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Ventura Baptist Church, 16240 Quincy St., Holland 494247 with Pastors Timothy Durey and Eric Peterson officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeshore Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Sunday, June 14 from 3-6 pm at Ventura Baptist Church.
