Ambiorix De La Cruz

Ambiorix De La Cruz, age 53, of Grand Rapids was called to his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents; Tomasina Serrata and Medardo De La Cruz. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 26 years, Candida Acevedo De La Cruz; his children, Emelyn, Steven, Diana, Angelina, Grey’D De La Cruz; grandchildren, Isabella and Carmelo; 9 brothers; his dog, Mini; many aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends. Ambiorix was a kind, loving, caring husband, father, and grandfather. He was born in the Dominican Republic and emigrated to the United States at a young age. He loved his family and enjoyed their get-togethers. He loved to cook, especially seafood for the love of his life, Candida. He enjoyed fishing in Florida and raising fish in his freshwater aquarium. Ambiorix loved listening to Bob Marley music. He was also very artistic and enjoyed abstract and landscape painting. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 16 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Stephen Dudek officiating. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 9:30 to 11 am at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to God’s Kitchen.
