Pizano (Diaz) - Amalia Gisela Pizano, age 81, passed away Thursday January 7, 2016. In 1966, Amalia came from Cuba with her 4 small children and her Mother. She came here as a young, single mother and did not speak English. She pulled up her bootstraps, learned the language, found a job and worked day and night to provide for her family. She worked to send her children to the finest schools and purchased a home for her family. She was very well known to be called "Superwomen" or "2nd Mom" to many of the neighborhood kids. During her time in Grand Rapids, she worked at Blackmer & Steelecase. After her children graduated she moved down to Miami - during her time there she worked in the Accounting Department for M K Roark, Inc. & Qbex Industries Inc. She was very passionate about her Children and Grandchildren. If anyone was to visit her at home, they would experience solid walls or tables full of pictures of her family. She kept her relationship with God in her life, she would always have a Bible around with pages marked with notes full of measurements as she enjoyed sewing many outfits for her children, grandchildren and help with Quinceanera dresses. She will be missed by her children Nelson Diaz, Marisela (Mark) Bobo & Maribel (Louis) Pagan - Her Grandchildren Steven (Cindy), Jaquy (Lee), Jontue, Rachel (Jeremy), Sarah, Louie, Desirae, Erin, Thomas, Terry (Sarah), Gwen (Matt) & Monabelle. We were blessed to have her here to meet her Great-Grandchildren Rusty Jr, Lucas, Natalie, Aydan, Isabelle, Amalia, Luna, BellaLynn, Stephanie, Tiphanie, Weston, Petra, Geneva, Luke & William. She will be missed as well by many friends she has made over the years in Miami & Grand Rapids. Lastly, her Chihuahua dog Panther was her constant companion and is missing her dearly. She was considered family to several and truly was an Amazing Stubborn Strong Willed Woman and we are extremely proud to have her as the Matriarch of this family. Thank you for everything you've done for our family. We didn't deserve your mercy and grace and we are blessed beyond measure for it. We love you Mami, Abuela, GGma.
