Alvin Louis Muusse

Alvin Louis Muusse, age 88, of Jenison, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barb, in 1999. Al’s love of music, combined with the ministry of the gospel, led him to begin Gospel Music Festivals. He enjoyed this ministry of music for over 15 years. Al was proud to bring many talented singers, musicians and songwriters to the Michigan area and his efforts touched many, many lives. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, “Boots”; children and grandchildren, Jan and Dale VanGilder (Tim and Michelle, Kristen and Jeremy), Denis and Shelley Muusse (Calvin, and Cole); his stepchildren, Kris and Judy Klynstra (Kate and Juan, Kelly), Tarri and Conrad Buchholtz (Brett and Samantha, Brandon and Heather), Douglas and Rose Klynstra (Jeffery and Adrianna, Jeremy, Nicholas and Lyndsey); 11 great grandchildren; his brother, Louis and Marla Muusse; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Joan Glashower; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive SW. Interment Grandville Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 5-8 p.m. and also Saturday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Holland Rescue Mission. As in Psalm 23, Al knew he would dwell in the house of the Lord forever. He lived his life prepared for when that day came...“He was ready.”
