Alvin Elzinga

ELZINGA - Mr. Alvin B. Elzinga aged 83 went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 30, 2016. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martheen; brother, Bernie (Glady) Elzinga; sister, Grace (Adam) Yff; parents, Simon and Henrietta. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; sons, Steve (Marie), Tom (Lois) and Jim (Shari) Elzinga; daughter, Gwen (Randy) Door; grandchildren, Jeff (Patty), Joe (Tabby), Mike (Claudia) and Ben Elzinga, Valerie (Alan) Musch, Julie (Ross) Postmus, Tim (Jordan) and Jasmin Elzinga; Kyle (Sarah), Jordan, Brittni Door; great grandchildren, Dante, Catalina, Emma, Max, Alex, Olivia and Jonah; also surviving are Evelyn's family. Alvin retired from the Grand Rapids Fire Department in 1991. He loved family trips, starting new businesses', trading stocks, singing hymns, boating and spending winters in Florida. His family will greet relatives and friends Thursday for viewing from 1PM to 3PM at Pathway Church, 8350 Byron Center Ave. SW., with Graveside services to follow at Winchester Cemetery. A memorial service will be held 7:00PM Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Pathway Church with additional visitation one hour prior to the service.
