Allison (Bachelder) Van Prooyen, age 43, of Comstock Park, a child of God, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.

A devoted and loving mother, she found her greatest joy in caring for her children, whose lives were forever enriched by her unconditional love and dedication. She had a tender heart for animals and cherished the companionship of her beloved pets. Deeply loved by all who knew her, she will be remembered for her beautiful spirit, unwavering resilience, and remarkable capacity to love deeply. Her light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bradford Bachelder and stepmother, Lori Bachelder. Allison will be lovingly remembered by her children, Teigan, Charlotte, and Aiden Van Prooyen; mother, Nancy Ronda; siblings, Carson Bachelder, Allyse (Bachelder) and Adam Homan, Parker Bachelder; special cousin, Jodi Eggerding; lifelong best friend, Patti Steere; many loving extended family members and friends. The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff and caregivers of Tandem 365 and Corewell Hospice for the love and compassionate care given to Allison. 

A memorial service will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Third Reformed Church, 2060 Michigan St. NE, Grand Rapids, 49503 with Rev. Jeffrey Petersen  officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Saturday from 11-12 p.m. at church prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be given to the Humane Society of West Michigan.
