My condolences to Clara and the family. Little Al and I worked together in the City of Kentwood. I for the Police Department, and Al at Station 2. Al was a good man, of whom you could depend. Thank you for your service. Rest in Eternal Peace.

To the Feenstra Family I want to offer my condolences to the passing of Al. I first met him in 1994 when he taught my FF I & II sprinkler class. I continued to see him throughout my fire service career and even more once we began living in Gtown. He was a great man, a great firefighter, and a class act. You will not be forgotten.

Feenstra family: We hurt like you hurt when a loved one passes, especially at such a young age. I knew Al to the point where we would say "hi" and wave at each other in parades, but as the son of the former Mayor of Kentwood, I say, "Well done, Al." On behalf of myself, a member of the Class of '70 at SCHS, and my son, a Lieutenant and firefighter with the United States Air Force at Robins AFB in central Georgia, I extend sympathy and love to you all as you say goodbye to a husband, father and good friend. May God's peace be with you. Lee Lamberts and Lt. Corey E. Lamberts

Sorry for your families loss. I've known Al since 1997 when I entered the Fire Protection business and he worked at the Bertsch company. Al always greeted everyone with a smile. He will be missed by many through out the Fire Protection world. He was a friend to all who met him.

Al was my best friend when we attended East Paris Christian School. Although not tall, Al ran like the wind and won every race in our boyhood school competitions. He was always friendly throughout our days at South Christian. We all went our separate ways after high school but my memories of Al Feenstra were always good ones. RIP my old friend.
