Alfred Frank Cordes

Alfred “Sonny” Frank Cordes, age 83, of Comstock Park passed away at home on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 after a 10 month struggle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Lucielle Cordes; special aunts, Theresa Cordes, and Eva Steinbrecher. Sonny will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Vicki Cordes; sons, Frank and Janine Cordes, and Richard Cordes; grandchildren, Kyle Cordes, Frankie Cordes; brother, William and Darlene Cordes; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jay and Shirley Reeb; special niece, Jamie Rogers; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Sonny retired from Michigan Bell/AT&T after many years of faithful service. Sonny proudly served in the US Marine Corps and was a member of the American Legion Post 47. He loved his family and working on classic cars. The family wishes to thank Spectrum Health Hospice for their care and concern shown to Sonny. Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday, June 6, 2022 at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont. Burial Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday, June 6, from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
