Aleda Wiersma

Aleda (Scholma) Wiersma, age 100, of Lamont, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, December 26, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard and her granddaughter, Kendra. She will be dearly missed by her children, Russ and Mary Wiersma, Larry and Donna Wiersma, Bill and Bonnie Wiersma, Arlene and Ken Jeurink; grandchildren, Laurie and Todd Zokoe, Randy and Mary Wiersma, Greg and Shari Wiersma, Jeremy Wiersma, Tricia Austin, Rick Wiersma, Robb and Ann Wiersma, Ryan and Ashley Wiersma, Kate and Tim Feyen, Jennifer and Marv Mingerink, Kristen and R.J. Lintjer; 34 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. Aleda loved her Lord and followed the Gospel with a servant’s heart. She loved to sew and knit; making tote bags for the missions here and abroad. Aleda also worked endlessly to provide food and baked goods for neighbors, friends, and church groups. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 11 AM at Lamont Christian Reformed Church, 4745 Leonard St, Coopersville, with Rev. Ronald Meyer officiating. Interment Maplewood Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 5-7:30 PM at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (corner of Avery and Scott) 6651 Scott St., Allendale. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Lamont Christian Reformed Church – Mission Fund.
