Remembering AJ (Anthony) McNeal Jr.
AJ (Anthony) McNeal, Jr., age 16, of Grand Rapids passed away May 31, 2017 after battling a congenital heart defect since birth. After a recent heart transplant which resulted in several complications, he is now resting in the arms of Jesus. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Amy (Deurloo) Bates, step-father Jonathan Bates, grandfather John Deurloo, father Anthony McNeal, Sr., siblings Jonathan Jr., Kailey, Kortney, Yasmine, Zaylah, and Kendall, aunts, uncles, a host of cousins and many friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11am at Kentwood Community Church, 1200 60th St. SE, Kentwood. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 6-9pm on Tuesday at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Kentwood) 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE., and for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
