Aimee Lynn McPeck

Aimee Lynn McPeck, age 45, of Chicago passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, July 23, 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Mark McPeck; grandparents, Guy and Anne Heintzelman. She will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Linda (Bob) Castle-Mull; brother, Shaun (Christina Wade) McPeck; and several dear friends. Aimee will be remembered for her love of her work at the Cardiac Surgery Unit at the University of Chicago Hospital, her puppy, Luna, and her love for friends and family. A celebration of Aimee’s life will be held 11 am on Monday, July 27, 2020 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 8436 Kraft Ave SE, Caledonia, MI, with Rev. Dr. Timothy Brand officiating. Burial Pine Hill Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Caledonia) 616 E. Main St. and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Due to gathering restrictions, there will be a limit on the number of people who may enter the building at a time. Live streaming of the service can be viewed on Facebook at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Caledonia, MI Facebook page. I only knew you for a few years here at U of C, but all I can say is you were awesome and I’m so glad we became friends. What happened to you is not fair and I’m mad we didn’t get to have more time together. I’m grateful for the time we did get, the laughs, and the visits even though they were in the hospital. My condolences and prayers for Amiee and her family/friends. I had the pleasure of working with Aimee at Weiss Memorial Hospital ICU. She was an energetic / loving nurse and an inspiration for all her coworkers. I can not say how truely saddened I am at learning of her passing. My GOD welcome her and keep her always. I used to work with Aimee at the Cardiac surgery unit at University of Chicago. She was one of those people that was not hard to work with . Willing to listen , help out and friendly. I was surprised when she left at our unit and did not return . I did not know that she suffered a lot from Cancer that took her life.What a great loss to everyone that knows and loves her. To her family and friends, may you all have the strength to overcome the pain of loss . To Aimee, rest well in God's kingdom my friend. No more pain or suffering..
