Allan Lee Buning, age 78, of Hudsonville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Lee was a hard worker who always stayed busy. He took a lot of pride in tending to his home. He also loved to tinker and craft and could turn seemingly worthless everyday items into priceless keepsakes. Above all else Lee was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his family more than anything in this world and always enjoyed spending time with them. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Nancy; children, Brent (Becky) Buning, Bobbi Buning-Jeltema, Jordan (Susan) Buning, Kristin (Joe) Ponstein; grandchildren, Chad (Tessa) Buning, Carley (Josh) Mazure, Cassandra (Logan) Mars, Lilly (Sam) Jangala, Benjamin Jeltema, Maddie (Connor) Wait, Grayson Buning, Landon Buning, Morgan Buning, Ashleigh Ponstein, Trent Ponstein, Gavin Ponstein; great-grandchildren, Jackson Mars, Dane Mars; siblings, Larry (Mary) Buning, Doug Buning, Greg (Sarge) Buning; sisters-in-law, Donna VanHaren, Dotty Burkett; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Georgetown CRC, 6475 40th Ave., Hudsonville with Rev. Marc Nelesen officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Wednesday from 5-8 pm at Georgetown CRC and Thursday from 10-11 am prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, The Special Friends group at Georgetown CRC or a Christian school of your choice.
