A. Burch

On January 3, 2012, A. Robert Burch, a fiercely loving and devoted husband, proud father/grandfather, beloved big brother and uncle, passed peacefully from our presence. Born on September 15, 1928, Bob lived a rich life of 83 years replete with service and accomplishment. His service included 2 years in the United States Marine Corps as Corporal and 5 years in the United States Army Reserve as 2nd Lieutenant. Bob also committed his time to the church in multiple capacities including that of deacon and elder in the United Presbyterian Church USA. Bob is survived by his wife and best friend of 62 years, MarMae Burch. His living legacy includes their three children - Daniel David Burch, Robert John Burch and Kathryn Louise Kozal. His family extends to 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Bob is also missed by his sister, Gayle Hoch and 2 nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, January 12, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. In honor of Bob's joy teaching preschoolers as a Sunday school volunteer, memorial contributions may be made to the Westminster Child Development Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
