Thomas P. Filer

Tom was such a positive force at MPHI. It is impossible to measure the number of lives he touched and young people he transformed into productive adults throughout his time here. There will be a hole in everyone's heart which will not be filled until we all meet again. Looking forward to our next golf game Tommy!

I met Tom many years ago working for Pizza Hut. He was always someone with that special can do attitude. There was no challenge to big for Tom. He overcame all obstacles. His special quality was the ability to capture your attention with his broad smile and down home personality. He was truly a pleasure to work with because with Tom it was always to go above and beyond. He brought out the best in whomever he worked with. Tom and his family are in my prayers.

I`am shocked and saddened to hear of Tom`s passing. A great guy and friend who will truly be missed. I have many fond memories of Tom. I remember like it was yesterday, interviewing Tom for a management position, meeting him at the M-139 Pizza Hut. No surprise that he became part of the Michigan Pizza Hut family, as I was for 23 years. They are still part of my extended family. Our deepest sympathies, along with our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Filer family. Thinking about and praying especially for Deb, who I had the pleasure of knowing and working with as well. God bless all of you.

Tom, Was so many things to me, he taught me many different things not just about work but in life also, he almost always had a smile on his face and would crack jokes with you just to make you smile, he always treated me like family, I had the pleasure of working with Tom for almost 6 years at pizza hut and up until this spring did his windows every other week in Jenison and Hudsonville. I could always count on Tom for a shoulder to cry on when I had a bad day. When work would get stressful, we would work and most of the time smile through the stress. When I would see him every other week he would tell me about how proud of his children he is and show me all the pictures of his grand babies. He was so proud to be a Husband, Father and grandfather. I just want to share with you one of the many things he taught me though the years. Tom once told me this and I never forgot it ( Don't say you will try to do it, say I will do it or it will not get it done, he explained if you say you can do it ,you will. If you just try you give yourself a chance to fail.) Thank you Tom for allowing me to be a part of your life it was truly a blessing knowing you and I will forever have a place in my heart for you.
