Thea Reinsma, age 105, of Jenison, passed peacefully into the arms of her heavenly Father surrounded by her family both near and far on Friday, November 2, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Albert. Thea was born in the Netherlands and then immigrated to Kingston, Ontario, where she and her husband Albert resided for 10 years before moving to Wyoming, Michigan. Thea was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who treasured her family. Above all, she loved her Lord and Savior. Her family will forever cherish her legacy of faith, family, and fun. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Grace and John Jansen of Edmonton, Alberta, Linda Brinkert of Aldergrove, BC, Olive and Ed VanDyke of Kingston, Ontario, Alice and Harvey Raterink of Salinas, California, Ann and Larry DeBlaay of Jenison, Sya and Ed Vogelzang of Byron Center, Joanne Reinsma of Traverse City; 22 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 9 at 11am at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr. Grandville, with Rev. Hank Vlaardingerbroek officiating. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-8 pm and also from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff and caregivers of Sunset Manor, Brookcrest, and Emmanuel Hospice for the love and compassionate care given to Thea.
