Aunt Nettie.....and family...... While I was teaching this morning, I kept hearing the "ping ping ping" of my cell phone. I knew something was going on.....and said a prayer..... Then at the end of my Summer School day, my daughter Laura called to let me know of uncle Grease's passing.......so I did not need to learn of it from FB....... Please know that my love and prayers are with you all.......I'm so sorry for your loss. I rejoice and am grateful that you had your loving husband, father, grand father, great grandpa for 85 years.....We lost daddy at age 74. Losing a loved one is never easy.....but holding them close in thoughts, prayers, precious memories......is so important. Grieving and healing take many forms......If I may......I would suggest that your family might take some joy and comfort in making quilts.....or pillows......from some of his clothing......Not a day goes by that I do not lean back into my chair and the quilt made from dad's shirts and pants......The day we came together to cut and sew......all 7 of us plus mom......and some of our children....shared stories, we laughed, we cried, and we healed......or at least began to heal.........This is long.....Let me close......telling you that my love is with you......and my prayers. Debbie (one of the many Debbie Boverhof's ) 😊 (The "original") 😊
