Benjamin M. Janes

Benjamin Michael Janes, age 18, of Allendale, affectionately known as “Ben,” passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, and is now home with Jesus. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Jean Janes and Donna Deering; great grandpa, John Budrick, Sr. Ben was the pride and joy of his Grandma Deering. He was a loving and compassionate son, brother and grandson who had a huge heart. He always put others before himself and genuinely cared about the needs of others. He had a deep passion for music and was exceptionally gifted with his musical abilities. The songs and beautiful sounds of the many instruments he could play will be truly missed and forever treasured in our hearts. He was a member of the Grand Rapids Baptist Church, serving his Lord with his time and talents as part of the tech team. Ben will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Donna and Ed Zimmerman; father, Gary and Dianne Janes; his siblings, Alyssa Arzate, Alexis and Mason Schuler, Amber and Brent Wisniewski, Gary E. Janes; grandparents, John and Sandra Budrick, Melvin and Fortune Janes; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Life Stream Church, 6561 Lake Michigan Drive, Allendale, with Pastor Cody Kuehl officiating. Interment Allendale Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday, September 14, from 5-8 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Allendale), 6651 Scott Street and also Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Grand Rapids Baptist Church Missions Fund or Spectrum Health Foundation Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
