Zachary Jay Curtis

Zachary Jay Curtis, 30, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and a life full of creativity and curiosity.

As a senior software developer, his passion for designing video games contributed to the creation of games including Poptropica, Littlest Pet Shop and Chupa Chups. His career gave him the opportunity to experience his love of travel, including meaningful work trips to England, and personal trips to Las Vegas and New York. Outside of work, he enjoyed skateboarding, long-boarding, snowmobiling, snowboarding, boating and numerous other activities. Zach, an exotic auto enthusiast, owned his own Maserati and motorcycle. Another passion of his is reading, always with a book nearby. 

Zach is survived by his parents, Jay and Sonie Curtis; his older brothers, Jeremy (Kimberly) Hall, Shane (April) Hall and sister, Lauren Curtis; nieces and nephews, Ian (Tiaira) Hall, Zoe (Ashton Halland) Hall, Owen Hall, Reagan Hall, Charlie Hall and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Zach is known for his sharp sense of humor, the energy he brings to family gatherings, his intelligence, compassion, thoughtfulness, generosity and the strong connection he has with those closest to him.

The visitations, funeral service and luncheon will be held at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, located at 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, MI   49306. The first visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 20, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A second visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 21, at 10:00 AM. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a luncheon.

He will be missed more than words can say.
