David Wolbers

David Arend Wolbers, age 78, of Gwinn, went to be with our Lord on Friday, October 24, 2025. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS John F. Kennedy. A passionate outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping and hunting. David was a dedicated volunteer and served for several years as Commander of the American Legion Post 349. Above all, he deeply cherished his family and the time he shared with them.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 43 years, Nellie Wolbers; children, David Jr. and Darlene Wolbers, Michele and Roger Henson, Kimberly and Troy Dozeman, Jennifer and Rob Hammink, Scott Swick; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Russ and Connie Wolbers, Duane and Ethel Wolbers, sister, Marilyn Bylsma; sisters-in-law, Nancy Wolbers, Janna and Don Marquard; and special friends, Terry and Christine TerBeek. He was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Wolbers; and brothers-in-law, Herman Kamphuis, Derk Overdyk. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 30, at 11 a.m. at MKD Funeral Home (Alllendale) 6651 Scott St. with Pastor Anthony Cozzello officiating. The burial will be held at Blendon Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
