William J. Palma

William J. Palma, age 88, of Grand Rapids, went to be with our Lord on Monday, September 28, 2015. Before retiring in 1989, he was Vice President of Muskegon Construction Company and was involved through Kiwanis with the implementation of the now popular “Paws with a Cause” program. William was a master craftsman who could design and build anything his family dreamed up. He was quick witted, generous, and loving, and his family will miss him dearly. In passing, William will be reunited with his wife of 66 years, Kathleen (Kay) Palma (nee McCarthy), his son, Bill E. Palma, his parents, John and Johanna Palma, and his brother, Edgar Palma. He is survived by his children, Terrie Palma, Patrick and Denise Palma, Karen Palma, and Sandra (Brad) Morse; daughter-in-law, Sharon Palma; 16 grandchildren, and an ever-growing number of great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday 11 am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 6-9 pm at the funeral home, as well as from 10-10:45 prior to the service on Friday. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Paws with a Cause or American Diabetes Association.
